What Is A Cigar Box Amplifier?
A cigar box amplifier is simply a guitar amplifier made out of a cigar box. When we decided to start making cigar box guitars, we found a lot of smaller cigar boxes in a our searches and decided they would make perfect practice amplifiers, so why not make amps out of them? The result is a 7 watt solid state amp that's perfect for home use or even live when plugged into a larger amp or PA. With the proliferation of cheaper but more robust electronics, it's also possible to use these as a harmonica amp with its rich distortion. We also make amps out of old tube radios with solid state electronics.
