Can you play your cigar box guitars acoustically?
Sure! They aren't a loud as a traditional acoustic guitar due to the small resonating cavity of the cigar box. They are fantastic for recording acoustically as well, just put a mic up to them near the bridge and you'll get a fantastic slide tone. I've recorded dozens of acoustic CBG songs over the years.
For live gigs you'll need to mic it or use the built in hand wound pickup (single coil).
